Lift Bexleyheath is a fully co-educational secondary school and sixth form in the heart of Bexleyheath. For students starting secondary school in September 2027, the application period runs from Tuesday, 01 September to Saturday, 31 October 2026. Applications should be made via the London Borough of Bexley website.

OPEN EVENINGS – Wednesday, 16 and Thursday, 17 September 2026, 4.00-6.00pm or 5.00-7.00pm

Our Open Evenings are an opportunity to tour the school and explore all that Lift Bexleyheath has to offer. All the family is welcome. Visitors will tour the school, accompanied by student guides and each subject will be showcased with staff and students available to speak to in the classrooms.

There will be headteacher talks at the start of the event at 4.00pm and 5.00pm. The Year Group Lead for Year 07, SEND, Wellbeing and EAL staff will be available.

OPEN MORNING TOURS

The Open Morning tours are an opportunity to see Lift Bexleyheath in action on a normal school day. These are 45 minute tours of key subject and communal areas. There will be opportunities to ask questions about the school and aspects of the secondary transition process. We welcome children to accompany their parents/carers.

The Open Mornings will take place everyday from Monday, 21 September to Friday, 02 October 2026 at the following times:

08:45-09:30

09:45-10:30

16:30-17:15 (this is a twilight tour, outside of school hours, intended to be an inclusive experience for those children and families feeling especially nervous)

Who should attend the Open Events?

Our Open Events are designed for families considering entry at 11+ (Year 06). Whether you’re just beginning your school search or are ready to apply, we’d be delighted to welcome you.

Can my child attend with me?

Absolutely. We encourage prospective students to attend, as Open Events are a great opportunity to experience life at Lift Bexleyheath, meet current students and teachers, and explore the opportunities available.

What can we expect on the day?

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our staff and students before setting off on a personalised tour led by one of our student ambassadors. You’ll have the opportunity to explore our academic departments, watch interactive demonstrations and try different activities, meet teachers and students, speak with our admissions and pastoral teams, and hear from our Principal (please make sure you book a space).

Do I need to book?

Yes. Booking is essential so we can provide every family with the best possible experience and allocate you to one of our Principal's talks. Some events, such as the taster sessions, will have limited capacity, so early booking is encouraged.

Will I be able to speak to teachers?

Yes. Every department will be open, with teachers and students available to talk about subjects, other opportunities and life at Lift Bexleyheath. You’ll also be able to meet members of our admissions, SEND, pastoral, EAL and Wellbeing teams

How long do the events last?

Most events are timed and timings will be clear when booking specific events. Families spend around two to two and a half hours at Open Evening, including attendance to the Principal's talk. The Open morning tours last 45 minutes.

How many events can I book?‍

Families can book to attend as many events as they would like. Each event is designed to showcase different aspects of the school and offer a different experience.

Is parking available?

Parking is available at the back of the school in the Goals car park on Graham Road, behind the large Asda on the high street. Be sure to let our reception team know your car registration number. If you choose to park on any nearby residential roads, we kindly ask that you are considerate of our neighbours and observe any parking restrictions.

Are refreshments available?

Refreshments will be available at our Open evening event and our taster sessions.

What if I can't attend Open evening?

We will also offer 45 minute, small-group weekday tours from Monday, 21 September to Friday, 02 October 2026. These provide another opportunity to see Lift Bexleyheath in action, meet members of staff and ask questions about admissions. Please book these via the Open Morning Tours link above.

Some events from last year!

Thursday, 09 October
Ms Gaskin hosted an engaging Fantastic Food Tech taster session for prospective Year 06 students, with valuable support from our talented Year 10 helpers. The session offered a hands-on introduction to Food Technology, giving young chefs the chance to develop essential kitchen skills, from measuring and preparing ingredients to cooking and presenting their own dishes.
The budding cooks were guided through making homemade pizzas, learning about food preparation, hygiene, and teamwork along the way. The delicious aromas filling the Food Tech room made it clear that everyone was enjoying the experience!
A huge thank you to Ms Gaskin and our Year 10 students for making the session both educational and fun. By giving future students a taste of the practical and creative aspects of Food Tech, this event has inspired many young chefs to explore their culinary talents.

Wednesday, 24 September | Art Attack Session
We were delighted to welcome Year 06 students and their families to our Art Attack Workshop, part of a series of special events designed to help families get to know our school and feel confident in making this important next step decision.
In the workshop, students rolled up their sleeves and immersed themselves in the vibrant world of watercolour painting. Guided by our art staff, they experimented with techniques such as wet-on-wet blending, creating washes, layering colours, and adding fine detail with brush control. Many students explored themes from nature, painting landscapes, flowers, and abstract designs that reflected their own creativity.
The atmosphere in the art room was full of energy and imagination. Students not only enjoyed the chance to express themselves but also discovered how art can be both relaxing and challenging. For many, it was a moment to try something new, build confidence in their artistic skills, and see what it feels like to be part of our school’s creative community.
Families had the chance to see their children engaged, focused, and proud of their work, an inspiring glimpse of the opportunities that await them here.
One parent remarked, “It was lovely to see how supportive the staff were and how much fun the students had while learning new skills.” Another added, “This workshop really showed us the kind of nurturing, creative environment this school offers.”
The Art Attack Workshop was not just about painting; it was about connection, creativity, and giving Year 06 families a real sense of what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.

We were thrilled to welcome over 400 families to our Open Evening at Lift Bexleyheath! The atmosphere was buzzing as our staff and students showcased what makes daily life here so special. From guided tours to inspiring conversations, families got a real insight into the opportunities, support, and community spirit that define our school. Families were even able to try the famous canteen food that staff and students love!
Our students truly shone, impressing visitors with their confidence, enthusiasm, and pride in their school, we couldn’t be prouder of how brilliantly they represented Lift Bexleyheath.
Transition events like this are more than just an introduction, they are a vital step in helping young people feel excited, prepared, and inspired as they begin their journey from primary to secondary school.
